LancasterOnline on Fiddler’s Picnic:
Fans of old-time and bluegrass music, take note.
Some of the region’s best pickers plan to gather at the second annual Lanchester Fiddler’s Picnic from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, at the rustic Landis Woodland Preserve, just outside of Christiana.
Last year’s inaugural event drew close to 500 musicians and spectators from as far away as Baltimore, Washington D.C. and New Jersey, said Jim Groff, one of the picnic organizers.
The event is sponsored by West Sadsbury Township in Chester County, which owns the preserve. Groff said township officials thought the shady preserve would be a great venue for old-time and bluegrass music.
