Parkesburg Yesterday – Update

6.24.2013 Parkesburg Plate

While doing some very late spring cleaning over the weekend, Kathi Rendall found this decorative Parkesburg plate, depicting a turn of the century First Avenue scene, which she promptly posted to Facebook.

According to Gerry Treadway, local historian and author of the Parkesburg Bottle book, the dish Kathi discovered was made in Vienna, Austria in the early 1900 and then imported and sold at the Chas. J. Seltzer Drug Store on Main Street in Parkesburg between 1900-1918.
