Parkesburg Borough Council Appoints Local Developer to Zoning Hearing Board

6.21.2013 Zoning

News this week that Parkesburg Borough Council appointed Rocco Pirozzi, Jr. to the Borough’s Zoning Hearing Board during Monday evening’s monthly Borough Council meeting.

The appointment followed a letter Mr. Pirozzi wrote last month offering to serve on the all volunteer board. As a lifelong resident of Parkesburg Borough, Pirozzi stated in the letter he takes “a great interest in the affairs that affect our community.”
The Zoning Hearing Board hears and decides appeals where it is alleged that the Borough Code Enforcement Officer didn’t follow prescribed procedure, has misinterpreted or misapplied any provision of the Zoning Code or if a special exception and/or variance from the zoning ordinance is appropriate.
During Monday’s meeting council members considered Pirozzi’s offer to serve and voted to approve his appointment to the Hearing Board.
Following the appointment Mr. Pirozzi stated he is looking forward to “working with the other members of the Zoning Hearing Board as well as Borough Council Members.”  Most importantly he said, “I look forward to working with the residents of Parkesburg, as well as those who wish to bring development to our town.”
