Parkesburg Area Business Association bestows awards At Annual Banquet..

P.A.B.A. recently held a “scaled down” version of their annual awards banquet for the year 2016, at the Coatesville Marriott Hotel.  Gone was the “glitz” and dancing and a more serious gathering included a light dinner and a silent auction.

O’Connor, a person who has become very active in the increasing number of events and projects in Parkesburg is pictured receiving a state commendation from Reggie Ward, a representative from Pennsylvania State Representative Harry Lewis.

 Meet  Octorara Senior Emma Carr, Recipient of the 2016 P.A.B.A. $1,000.00 scholarship.

Emma Carr graduates this year from the OASD.  Emma’s major at OAHS is in business.  Emma participated in field hockey, softball, Future Business Leaders of America for four years and earned the National Honor Society for her senior year.  Emma is attending Penn State University, Altoona campus for two years and will move to the main campus for her junior and senior year.  Her field of study is in marketing.

 Meet  Donte Harrell, Recipient of the 2016 P.A.B.A. $1,000.00 Parkesburg Point scholarship.

Donte Harrell played for the Braves football team and attended the Point for tutoring and recreation.  Donte has had a tough road with his academic and athletic career.  He has He has found ways to overcome those obstacles.  Donte is currently a student at Widener University and plays football for Widener.
