The verdict is in. Urban Outfitters is expanding and doing so right next door.
Urban Outfitters, the Philadelphia based that owns and operates 400 retail locations across the United States, Canada and Europe, has signaled their intention to build a new $105 million warehouse on a 52-acre plot right across the road from their existing Brackbiill Road site west of Gap.
The site, along with four others, has been under review by Urban Outfitters for the past 18 months. Earlier this week the company filed a deed in Lancaster County signalling the Salisbury Township site had won Urban Outfitter’s favor.
The filed deed shows Urban Outfitters paid $9.04 million for the 52-acre undeveloped site.
According to an article in LancasterOnline, Governor Corbett announced a press conference Monday where he is expected “to make a major announcement, described only as being about economic development in Lancaster County.”
Once completed in the Spring of 2015, the warehouse is expected to provide employment for up to 500 people.
