P.A.B.A. is sponsoring “Make A Difference Day” in Parkesburg on October 22, 2016 from Noon-3pm at the Parkesburg POINT located at 700 Main Street, Parkesburg, PA 19365.
The invitation to participate is extended to PABA members and other local businesses, crafters and vendors to join the fun! As a member of PABA there will be no vendor set up fee-it’s just the benefit for being a PABA member. If you are not currently a member, the fee is $50 for a table-but please considers becoming a member of PABA for the discounted first year fee of $40. All that choose to participate must provide some type of craft, game or activity for school age children free of charge (examples include face painting, pumpkin ring toss, photo booth…etc.) and for our friends in the restaurant or catering businesses, you may substitute a free food sample from your own restaurant/catering business for visitors to try.
All fees collected for this event will be donated to the POINT and Kacie’s Cause (Parkesburg chapter).
50/50 TICKETS WILL BE ON SALE DURING THE EVENT
The local and popular Ole 442 band will be performing on stage throughout the event. During the band’s breaks, other speakers and performances will take place.
First Band break scheduled speakers will focus on bullying. Jedd King, Octorara teacher and Varsity football coach along with Junior Joe Meyer and sophomore Emily Solomon will speak on the topic of bullying, especially in our schools.
Second band break will feature performances by some excellent local talent stars Adrianna McCall and Melina Yelovich.
Also for the kids — There will be a 70 ft obstacle course and a bouncy house for the little ones.
The Parkesburg Point’s mission:
The mission of the POINT is to provide a safe haven and to address the physical, emotional and academic needs of young people who live in our community.
Kacie’s Cause mission:
Reach out to families in the borough and surrounding communities by providing them with knowledge about the Heroin epidemic and how local residents, schools and law enforcement can become involved to help and protect each other.
We are participating with the Western Chester County Chamber of Commerce and will have lots of advertising. There will be no admission fee for the community – we are only asking for a donation of newly packaged socks, underwear or undershirts for those in need at the POINT or a donation of gently used, clean clothing or a prom dress for Kacie’s Cause.
