The “ATGLEN” letters from this week’s Find It Friday hang on the front of the post office in Atglen on Valley Avenue.
Atglen’s post office is one of 31,272 such offices around the country processing and delivering 160 billion pieces of mail every year. If it were a private sector company, the U.S. Postal Service’s $65 billion annual revenues would rank it 42nd in the 2012 Fortune 500.
It’s worth mentioning in din of this week’s of heightened partisan rhetoric and government shutdown, the US Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
Although FIF posts all of his challenges online, he still appreciates what people so lovingly refer to as “snail mail.” He enjoys receiving a letter in the mail. So this week FIF decided to explore the source of the letters.
So write a letter, send it to your friend… support your local post office!
Kevin Miller of Parkesburg said he, “recognized this sign immediately. It hangs on the front of the Atglen Post Office. The full sign reads “United States Post Office Atglen, Penna 19310″
Kimberly Thomas, last week’s FIF winner, also submitted a correct guess.
Kevin is this week’s winner of the $10 Rocco & Anna gift certificate
Don’t forget to check back next week for another FIF challenge!
In the meantime enjoy the view.
