Atglen’s Olde Creek Cottage

This lovely cottage sits 100 yards off the north side of Upper Valley Road just north of Atglen.

From the cottage’s Facebook page, this description of the cottage’s history:

This cottage is a recently restored, small, stone house, built in the early 1700’s. It is located on the residence of the Graber family. It sits in a secluded spot beside a beautiful creek, at the edge of a large wooded area. A rear, shaded, stone patio with comfortable lounge chairs overlooks the creek. An additional patio contains an outdoor dining set and outdoor fireplace/grill. Landscaped flower gardens surround the house. Hiking trails border the property.

On the first floor is an open-beamed living room with a non-working fireplace and an adjoining, fully-equipped kitchen. On the second story is a bathroom with shower, and bedroom equipped with a queen-sized bed. A locally handmade quilt decorates the bed.

From YouTube:

Come away from the pace and demands of normal life. Let your stresses fade as you watch and hear the flowing of the creek. Sit on the stone patio relaxing with a cup of coffee. Grill your favorite meal at the outside fireplace. Curl up beside an outdoor fire at night and rediscover friendship. Read a favorite book snuggled in a comfortable chair. Stroll through the colorful, well-designed gardens. Watch for butterflies, birds, ducks, and deer which might pass by. Gain new focus by soaking in the simplicity of the cottage.

The words of one of our guests states, “This is not for someone looking for the ultra modern hotel with non-stop spa treatments and the latest in technology. This is the place for someone looking for absolute quiet and relaxation.” The first class restoration, country charm, the location beside the creek, and the scenery make it the perfect place to get away from your fast-paced world and find the things that matter most. One of the most frequent comments we receive is “The pictures on this website do not do it justice.”
