2013 Octorara Grad Earns Baseball Conference Rookie Award

From Penn State Altoona’s NOW (Now On The News) site on Pat McHenry, a 2013 Octorara alumni and last year’s Most Outstanding Octorara Athlete, being named Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference’s Newcomer of the Year:

McHenry Named AMCC Newcomer of the Year, Headlining Baseball All-Conference Team

Penn State Altoona freshman first baseman/designated hitter Pat McHenry (Christiana, PA/Octorara) was voted the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference’s Newcomer of the Year and was one of four Lions selected to the All-Conference Team, which was released on Tuesday morning.

In addition to being the Newcomer of the Year, McHenry also earned a first team All-Conference spot as a DH.

McHenry posted tremendous numbers in his first year with Penn State Altoona baseball, ranking at or near the top of many offensive statistical categories in the AMCC. He led the conference in doubles (19), runs batted in (46), total bases (104), and slugging percentage (.754), and he ranked second in home runs (10), third in runs scored (41) and on-base percentage (.482), and sixth in batting average (.399).
